Rain....and Birds

I am marveling.... About Birds and Rain This morning I read something profound. God knew what I needed. I happened upon a Facebook post from someone I do not really know. And it was really good. Dan Monk gets the credit for the insight and inspiration for this blog post. He shared how his wife was wondering how the birds like the rain. Do they still sing in the rain? Upon researching it he found that not only do they sing in the rain, but they seem to sing more loudly! Upon further research, he found that it is actually the rain drops that amplify their melodic message. When the rain falls in our life, let's not quit singing. Rather, let's keep singing, maybe more then ever. Let's keep praising Jesus and exclaiming His comforting and encouraging Truth. Knowing that in the rainy seasons, God will amplify our songs and make them resound greater then ever! Let's be the source of His music!

Heeding His Leading

I am musing..... about Heeding His Leading May we heed as He does lead!  I like the way that sounds. But now to do it!  There is so much good to be done in this world. So much need! It can downright overwhelm us. Where do we start? Well, there are a couple of comments relative to this question that I have heard expressed lately which I really love... First, may we do for one what we wish we could do for thousands! Second, each day may we ask the Lord  to show us that one whom He wants us to "do for". May we listen for His leading...and then seek His grace for the heeding. May we  be encouraged when we recall to our heart and mind the story of the little boy with his loaves and fishes. No doubt he sensed the leading to give, and then followed through....heeding the leading. And oh the miracle that ensued! Our God is a gracious multiplier! May we do our part and give what we can....may we heed when we sense His lead. May we prayerfully trust in th

Covid 19

I am musing...... About Covid 19! New Year's Day 2020...had not even heard of it! Who would have thought that a couple months into the year that the world as we knew it would stop. No ballgames? No church gatherings?? No eating out? No family get togethers? Not going to work? Basically no travel? When stopping at an "essential business" to pick up needed supplies makes us feel that we are putting our lives at risk? Who would have thought? Missionaries being sent home Sr. citizens never leaving their homes. Nursing home residents unable to be visited by those they love. People dying. Often alone. Without the warm hands and loving words of those they hold most dear. People on cruise ships for an extended amount of time...and wishing they weren't. Who would have thought? Dairy farmers considering using their cow's milk for fertilizer vs painfully dumping it due to a decreased market Everyone's 401 K's being slashed to where

Easter 2020

I am marveling.... About Easter! Easter 2020 It is that glorious time of year When the world awakens once again, We see the flowers bloom Hear the music of the wren The grass greens up luxurious The sun shines on our face We look around with wonder The world's a lovely place And yet this year there's something Different in the air The Covid epidemic Tries to give us all a scare Our lives have been altered Not as they used to be We find ourselves confined In what we do and who we see We deal with the unknown Hear of sorrow and of fear Yet we know that our redeemer Is as always, oh so near! He knows all things and loves us He is ever on His throne His mercy is unending... We need to make His Gospel known! He came to Earth to save us H

Preeminence

I am musing.... about Preeminence Preeminence. I LOVE that word! I use that word...alot. I think it. I pray it. I go back to it. Time and again. It gives me comfort and realignment. It helps me navigate life. It gives hope, reassurance, peace and purpose. Why? Because of the context in which I use it. CHRIST IS THE PREEMINENCE! He is my all-in-all! He is on the throne! He has all things. He is all knowing and all powerful and all present! And there-in I find hope and comfort and reassurance and peace and realignment and purpose. When Satan throws those darts of doubt and fear, I raise my shield of faith and shout from my soul “HE IS THE PREEMINENCE!” Life can be going along. Hunky Dory. Life is good. I have been able to touch base with all the kiddos and the grandkiddos:) I have had my sweet grandbaby-time (whether in my arms or on Facebook). My hubby seems happy and content. The house is clean (enough). Work is going well. Bible Study is scheduled for th

My Friend who said "Yes Lord"

I  am marveling..... about My Friend who said "Yes, Lord" My friend Rose. Wow. God tugged and she responded. He spoke and she listened. He pointed and she went. And oh the way He is working... She lives in a lovely country home, up a lane with a beautiful view of the flat, Il. landscape, with her husband and 3 sons. Not far from their home is a small, very small town (is it a town?). I looked up it's population on line and found out that it is actually a defunct town that has “voted itself out of existence”. Interesting. Well, there are probably 35 homes, no post office, or church, or much of anything.   Anyway, she worked there at the elevator. That they do have. And as she would occasionally drive through the “town”, she noticed and she sensed. She sensed sadness and need. She noticed children playing, forlorn homes, run-down yards. And she heard God speak to her heart. She was not sure exactly of what He was saying, but she knew He was speaking.
