The Bluebells are Always Blue-er on the Other Side of the...

I am musing about.... Blue-er Bluebells! Last Sunday my hubby and I enjoyed a lovely hike at nearby Parklands where the Bluebells had transformed the woods into a sea of airy color like a blue fairy land. It is always so amazing to take in this phenomena that takes over Parklands for a couple short weeks every Spring. We opted to start from the South gate this year. Something different. As we headed in, we enjoyed the lovely Spring weather and the chance to breathe in the fresh woodsy scents.  The closer we got to the river, the denser became the Bluebell population.  Pretty! Very pretty! But as I gazed across the river, I perceived the more abundant flora on the other side. "I think it is better over there" I told my husband. About that time, we saw some trail blazers across the river, heading in the opposite direction from us. It was kind of hard to discern their faces, but my husband with his fairly acute vision thought he recognized them and called out his potential na

A New Day Dawning

I am marveling about.... A New Day Dawning The other Saturday I had a rare experience. I saw the sunrise. I know many of you are early risers and see this often. But I, not so much. I was up by 4 A.M. and on the road by five. Heading east. To a seminar. And what a glorious gift God gave us! We were enthralled as we watched the splendor of the new day be revealed as the Lord slowly pulled back the curtain of night's darkness. Ahh...the colors, the vibrancy, the way they changed and grew until the day was flooded in sunshine indicating its obvious arrival; summoning life's business to proceed once again.   As we traveled and took in the marvelous scene unfolding before us, we were reminded once again that.... Each day is a gift. A gift to be used. A window of opportunity to reach others for the Gospel. To share His love. To make a difference. I know, that not every day is going to seem huge in the ways of an Evangelical footprint. But that is where we need to stop and consider

On Closets and Stewardship

I am musing about Closets and Stewardship So I have a confession. I like clothes. I like to coordinate them. To mix and match. To add a creative touch here and a fun touch there. Don't get me wrong. I am no fashionista. While to an extent, I enjoy noticing the trends (those that are reasonable), I just basically enjoy putting things together.  I like to pick up a fun bargain. Sometimes, it is thanks to Amazon or a "cute little shop or boutique" but often it is due to a second hand find. Some of my clothes I have had for years. I like to "change them up", add a scarf or a different sweater to give them a new look. My sweet grandma was known to be amazing at this. My mom (the youngest of 16 kids, 11 of which were daughters), shares how her mom could take a "hand me down" and rework it with her adept ability at the sewing machine, and create something beautiful that made her feel like it was brand new. It was touched by the hands of her dear mama's

Grabbing Nectar

I am musing about... Grabbing Nectar The other day, while on a walk with our granddaughters, we stopped to admire the lovely flowering bushes. The bees were buzzing around, flitting from one blossom to the next, resolutely partaking of the sweet nectary feast they had found. As I noted their activity it made me think of how once they obtain the sweet nourishing nectar, they are equipped to go forth and produce that which God created them for; honey! And so it is with us. As we partake of the spiritual nourishment found in God's Word, we too will then be equipped to go forth and produce fruit for Jesus. May we feast often, with purpose and determination, taking it in, bringing us joy! May it sweeten our days and strengthen our souls as we gratefully partake from the spiritual nectar our God provides! How sweet are your promises to my taste, more then honey to my mouth.           Psalm 119;103

It Is You (and me).

I am musing about.... It is You (and me) Was reading the account of Jesus on the cross. When the one thief asked to be remembered when Christ entered his Kingdom and then when Jesus responded with "Today you shall be with me in Paradise", it practically stopped me in my mental tracks! Wow! Can you imagine if that was you? But then it hit me. It is you. And me. We all will die a deserved death due to the results of sin and a fallen world (unless Christ comes first). We all deserve eternal damnation because of our sins. But God has promised each of His children eternal life in Paradise with Him. If we believe. On what He did. There. On that cross. For that thief. For the world. For you and  for me. Thank you Jesus! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tkx8WAycYAc When I Survey the Wondrous Cross
