Heeding His Leading

I am musing.....

about Heeding His Leading

May we heed as He does lead!

I like the way that sounds. But now to do it!

There is so much good to be done in this world. So much need! It can downright overwhelm us. Where do we start?

Well, there are a couple of comments relative to this question that I have heard expressed lately which I really love...

First, may we do for one what we wish we could do for thousands!

Second, each day may we ask the Lord  to show us that one whom He wants us to "do for".

May we listen for His leading...and then seek His grace for the heeding.
May we  be encouraged when we recall to our heart and mind the story of the little boy with his loaves and fishes. No doubt he sensed the leading to give, and then followed through....heeding the leading. And oh the miracle that ensued! Our God is a gracious multiplier!

May we do our part and give what we can....may we heed when we sense His lead.

May we prayerfully trust in the miraculous touch of Jesus...to take our meager gift and multiply it for His glory!

Thank You and God Bless!!

Thank you friends and family for coming along on this musing and marveling journey the last three and half years. The journey is not over. There is still plenty of musing and marveling to do. But for now, I have come to a place of pause and reflection. As 2023 rolls to its close, I am considering taking a step of faith to put this into a book to be shared with those I love, and those who love (or will love) Jesus! All along, it has been about using God given stories and random analogies to encourage and inspire, as together we let life point us to our life-giver, Jesus! And that is my prayer for each of you dear readers...that you may be encouraged, each day, to continue on in this Christ-following journey. Look to Him! Shine for Him! Love Him! Share Him! It is what we are called to do! For this life is all about serving our Lord and bringing others to the Father's throne of mercy and grace, that place where we all find hope, purpose and peace. And to each of our precious grand-c...

PILGRIMS

I am musing about... Pilgrims. Do you like "the pilgrims"? I like them. I loved the stories we heard in school of how they came from across the ocean in search of religious freedom and greater opportunity. I was touched by the accounts of the hardships they faced; loss at sea, sickness, extreme cold, needing to clear a wild land to build rustic shelters and prepare virgin soil for the planting of seeds. All while dangers surrounded them on every side. I love the redeeming story of that first Thanksgiving; a table laden with the fruits of their first bountiful harvest. A time of gathering with friends, new and old, those from their home land and those from their new land. I love the beautiful story of the kind natives who came along side them, providing practical help and instruction. It was a joyful time of giving thanks to God for His provision and faithfulness. The early pilgrims helped form the backbone of our country. They exemplified courage! They exhibited a strong an...

It is just not like being there

I am musing about.... It is just not like being there. Picture this. You have a precious (dream like) opportunity to talk with your great grandpa. He asks, "So how was church on Sunday?" "It was good" you respond.  "We watched online."                                                                                      Can you imagine his response??  "WHAT is online "?? In this Covid world, online church has become a reality for many. I admit that it is a WONDERFUL  option for those who need or desire to stay away from crowds, who are ill or at risk. How many times this year have I thanked God for the blessings of technology. Providing a chance to "almost feel like you are there".  But you aren't. And it is not the same. There is just something abo...
