Easter 2020

It is that glorious time of year
When the world awakens once again,
We see the flowers bloom
Hear the music of the wren

The grass greens up luxurious
The sun shines on our face
We look around with wonder
The world's a lovely place

And yet this year there's something
Different in the air
The Covid epidemic
Tries to give us all a scare

Our lives have been altered
Not as they used to be
We find ourselves confined
In what we do and who we see

We deal with the unknown
Hear of sorrow and of fear
Yet we know that our redeemer
Is as always, oh so near!

He knows all things and loves us
He is ever on His throne
His mercy is unending...
We need to make His Gospel known!


He came to Earth to save us
He died on Calvary's tree
He arose again in glory!
And intercedes for you and me

May we lift to our Father
The prayers for those in need
So many who are hurting,
May we yield as He does lead

May we count our many blessings
May we look to Him and pray
He is our glorious Savior
May we praise Him every day

And at this Easter time
May we feel His mighty love
May we bask in all He's given us
Such blessings from above

He gives us peace on earth
True Joy within our hearts
Has a glorious eternal home prepared
For our soul when it departs

May we pray that all will know Him
May we reach out to those we love
May we share with them the comfort
That He gives from Heaven above

And so now we take this time
To let you know dear one
How much you mean to us....
But even more to God's dear son.
HE IS RISEN!! ALLELUIA!

  Thank you friends and family for coming along on this musing and marveling journey the last three and half years. The journey is not over. There is still plenty of musing and marveling to do. But for now, I have come to a place of pause and reflection. As 2023 rolls to its close, I am considering taking a step of faith to put this into a book to be shared with those I love, and those who love (or will love) Jesus! All along, it has been about using God given stories and random analogies to encourage and inspire, as together we let life point us to our life-giver, Jesus!   I am musing about.... Taking a Selah moment Selah! You see the word used often in the Psalms. What does it really mean? It has been thought that it could mean to "take a pause", to stop, think, reflect, let what you just read or heard really sink in. Last Sunday in church, the minister had us all take a "Selah moment".  For an entire minute the large sanctuary filled with potentially stirring/whispering congregants was hush still. As we all thought and pondered, either about something from the first service or an interaction we had during the fellowship time (thus were the instructions anyway) peace sank deeper into my heart. It was powerful. It helped cement in my mind some great thoughts from the earlier service, thoughts that could have easily slipped away. What a great idea! May we all take frequent "Selah moments". Just What is it About this Time of Year?

  I am musing and marveling about.... Just what is it about this time of year?? It is a time of "peace on Earth, good will to men". It is a time of universal sharing, caring and giving. It is a time when people open their hearts, their homes and their pocketbooks. It is a time of nostalgia; a time of dreaming. It is a time of childhood wonder (no matter your age), It is a time of chorales, symphonies, caroling and ..... humming.  It is a time of togetherness, a time for connectivity (or at least a desire for it). It is a time of extreme busyness (pre-Covid anyway) and yet a time we yearn for quiet and pause. It is a time of reflection. It is a time of memory making and memory stirring. It is a time of healing or a time when healing feels so needed. It is a time of emotion, when feelings reign strong. It is a time when grief hits harder and joys abound more fully. It is a time of beauty and serenity and warmth. It is a time of reaching out and reaching in. It is a time of cozy...
