Eek! A Snake!

I am musing about... Eek! What is it about a snake. They are alarming! Wouldn't you agree? No matter how small, they have a way of eliciting fear, or at least anxiety. So the other day, while taking a walk around our neighborhood and talking to my sis on the phone I was surprised to see a small black snake along the edge of the street. I stopped and exclaimed to my sis, "A snake!". We used to see them now and then in the country growing up, but this was a rare sighting for sure. And an unwelcome one at that. I hung up. Snapped a pic. Started walking. Saw the neighborhood boy. "Hey, I said, come look at this." We walked back to where I had spotted the snake. The young man, tentatively followed me, not sure of  what I was going to show him. "I think it moved" I said as I approached it. "Stand back." It was then he saw it. He smirked. "Oh that", he said. "It's fake. I put it out there yesterday." You can imagine my chag

Song of Solomon 2:4

I am meditating on.... Song of Solomon 2:4 In so many ways, this world is a "hot mess". Wars, fightings, political jarring and unrest, unkindness, poverty, abuse, sadness and heartache. But then again, this world is full of so much beauty and joy; kindness, love, compassion, creativity, and in many cases, people working together for a common good. The commen denominator of the joy, are the principles found in God's Holy Word. Yet, not that all those who are practicing these values, are giving His Word the credit. Many are not yet aware that eventually, any "warm fuzzies" derived from exercising His principles will come up void without a true and meaningful relationship with their Lord and Savior. Recently we bought an umbrella for our patio table. (We should have done it sooner!!) Oh, how I am enjoying the cool and inviting space it provides. As I sit under its banner of refreshing comfort, I have to marvel at what a difference a "banner" makes. Duri

Hugged

Really hard. She needed help. From others. From God. She reached out. To no avail. Everybody was busy. She cried. She prayed. She felt alone. She needed to hear from God. She needed to know He cares. She needed to know He listens and answers her prayers. Then God laid another friend on her heart. She called. That friend was able to come. She came and  served with kindness and love. She helped make her day...so much better. But then God did something so remarkable, so beautiful. He wanted to REALLY make her day. He reached down and he gave her a hug. You see there was another friend of hers back in town for the day. A friend that she does not see all that often. A friend who was visiting family. As this friend was driving out of town on her way back home, she shared that God laid my caregivi
