Something Funny Happened...

I am musing about writing... "Something funny happened"... Isn't that a good way to draw someone to your post? It is light hearted, and bodes of fun and likely laughter. We all love that right? My last post was kind of heavy, somewhat deep, skirting controversial issues, yet pointing back to Truth and hope and Jesus. I was ready for something light hearted and fun. Are you?  So here is a funny little situation that I can share... But first a disclaimer. This is not laugh out loud hilariously funny, so don't expect too much. It is simply a cute, ironic fun little story. Something "light-hearted" if you will :) So, last week I headed out to our daughter and her family in IN. and was blessed to watch their three precious and energetic little boys while they had an afternoon and evening away. You see, our daughter decided to surprise her hubby by attending an event that she knew he would enjoy. She purchased tickets and wrote on the calendar to "keep open

Going Back (to the days pre-Covid)

I am musing about... Going Back. The other day I was praying. I asked God to help us get through this pandemic and get back to how "things used to..." And then I stopped myself. Do I really want to go back to how things used to be? Pre-pandemic? In some ways, yes. But in other ways, no. Do you? What do we want different, changed, altered?  How have we grown through this?  Hopefully, this experience will not be lost on us or on our relationship with our God.   Let's honestly answer these questions. Am I more thankful? Do I feel less entitled? Or am I at least recognizing times when I may struggle with this? Am I more patient? More understanding of others and the hard situations many find themselves in? Do I value our first responders, our health care workers, our police force more then I used to?  Am I more prayerful for them? Do I take my health less for granted? Am I more thankful for the gift of travel? Am I more aware of the fragility of life and lifestyle? Do I valu

All

ALL I am musing about... ALL ALL that we do, according to 1 Corinthians 10:31 should be...For. God's . Glory. It should be the why behind what we do. Or at least the mindset behind it. True. Some things we do because of simple logistics, or stated obligations or role expectations. That is the reason we may take out the trash or calculate payroll. But still, behind it all, may our mindset always be...that the way in which we perform our daily tasks, no matter how mundane or complicated, no matter how trite or grand, should be done in such a way that it brings God glory! So... Sing that song...for God's glory Mop that floor...for God's glory Sign that contract...for God's glory Wipe that nose...for God's glory Give that donation...for God's glory Pay that bill...for God's glory Drink that coffee...for God's glory Provide that drink of water...for God's glory Read that deep theological Scripture...for God's glory Answer that simple question...for G

Lena was here!

LENA WAS HERE! I am musing about how..... Lena was here! How do I know? Well, she left some things behind. Some toys in unusual places, some goldfish crumbs, some amazing memories, a warm glow in my heart, a smile on my face, and ... a "happy face" sticker on our kitchen floor. I love it. Keeping it there. For awhile. A reminder of the sweet Christmas moments when Lena and her precious cousins graced our home with their laughter, antics, smiles, tears, frolics, questions, cute comments and endearing love! It makes me ponder... As I leave a place where I have been, what do I leave behind? What do you? May this coming year be a year where we leave smiles in our wake. May the joy we desire to bring, stick around after we leave. By God's grace. May we leave some of the love of Jesus behind, for others to reflect on and bask in. How will others know... That we were there? Matthew 5:16

God Bless Your New Year!

I am marveling about.... God's Light! It shines in the darkness. He IS light! He is the source of  ALL light. He shines upon us and illuminates our path! His Word says Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105 May we all dig into His Word in this new year and allow it to warm our hearts, provide sight through the darkness of this world around us and engulf our souls in the Joy that is Jesus; the LIGHT or the World! May God bless us all with a meaningful, joyful, inspiring, spiritually growing, Kingdom building 2022 as He... Lights our Paths!
