PILGRIMS

I am musing about...

Pilgrims.

Do you like "the pilgrims"? I like them.

I loved the stories we heard in school of how they came from across the ocean in search of religious freedom and greater opportunity. I was touched by the accounts of the hardships they faced; loss at sea, sickness, extreme cold, needing to clear a wild land to build rustic shelters and prepare virgin soil for the planting of seeds. All while dangers surrounded them on every side.

I love the redeeming story of that first Thanksgiving; a table laden with the fruits of their first bountiful harvest. A time of gathering with friends, new and old, those from their home land and those from their new land. I love the beautiful story of the kind natives who came along side them, providing practical help and instruction. It was a joyful time of giving thanks to God for His provision and faithfulness.

The early pilgrims helped form the backbone of our country. They exemplified courage! They exhibited a strong and abiding faith in their God. They pocessed fortitude, strength and vision. They were not afraid to step into a hard today in search of a better tomorrow.

Are we not all pilgrims as well?

What is a pilgrim? It is "one who is on a journey". What journey are you on? Are you willing to be a pilgrim, to journey into new frontiers in answer to God's call on your life? Your journey may be small or grand. It may change the world or simply change your heart. May we all be in tune to our Father's promptings and be willing to step out, in faith, into unchartered waters when we are asked to do so. May we lean into our faith in a faithful God and guide!

The Bible shares that we, as Christians are on a journey, we are pilgrims on earth, "seeking a better country, that is, a Heavenly one". (Heb. 11:16)

So journey on fellow pilgrims. Journey on with thankfulness! For our God is a good Provider and will faithfully lead us on as we answer His call on our life. We are blessed with God given opportunities and  undeserved riches as we travel this land and way, as pilgrims, towards our Heavenly home.

We have much to give thanks for!

Happy Thanksgiving dear pilgrim!

Thank You and God Bless!!

Thank you friends and family for coming along on this musing and marveling journey the last three and half years. The journey is not over. There is still plenty of musing and marveling to do. But for now, I have come to a place of pause and reflection. As 2023 rolls to its close, I am considering taking a step of faith to put this into a book to be shared with those I love, and those who love (or will love) Jesus! All along, it has been about using God given stories and random analogies to encourage and inspire, as together we let life point us to our life-giver, Jesus! And that is my prayer for each of you dear readers...that you may be encouraged, each day, to continue on in this Christ-following journey. Look to Him! Shine for Him! Love Him! Share Him! It is what we are called to do! For this life is all about serving our Lord and bringing others to the Father's throne of mercy and grace, that place where we all find hope, purpose and peace. And to each of our precious grand-c...

Just What is it About this Time of Year?

I am musing and marveling about.... Just what is it about this time of year?? It is a time of "peace on Earth, good will to men". It is a time of universal sharing, caring and giving. It is a time when people open their hearts, their homes and their pocketbooks. It is a time of nostalgia; a time of dreaming. It is a time of childhood wonder (no matter your age), It is a time of chorales, symphonies, caroling and ..... humming.  It is a time of togetherness, a time for connectivity (or at least a desire for it). It is a time of extreme busyness (pre-Covid anyway) and yet a time we yearn for quiet and pause. It is a time of reflection. It is a time of memory making and memory stirring. It is a time of healing or a time when healing feels so needed. It is a time of emotion, when feelings reign strong. It is a time when grief hits harder and joys abound more fully. It is a time of beauty and serenity and warmth. It is a time of reaching out and reaching in. It is a time of cozy...

Preeminence

I am musing.... about Preeminence Preeminence. I LOVE that word! I use that word...alot. I think it. I pray it. I go back to it. Time and again. It gives me comfort and realignment. It helps me navigate life. It gives hope, reassurance, peace and purpose. Why? Because of the context in which I use it. CHRIST IS THE PREEMINENCE! He is my all-in-all! He is on the throne! He has all things. He is all knowing and all powerful and all present! And there-in I find hope and comfort and reassurance and peace and realignment and purpose. When Satan throws those darts of doubt and fear, I raise my shield of faith and shout from my soul “HE IS THE PREEMINENCE!” Life can be going along. Hunky Dory. Life is good. I have been able to touch base with all the kiddos and the grandkiddos:) I have had my sweet grandbaby-time (whether in my arms or on Facebook). My hubby seems happy and content. The house is clean (enough). Work is going well. Bible Study is scheduled for th...
