lost and FOUND

I am musing about...

lost...and FOUND!!

Chatter and giggles, squeals of delight!

Have you ever enjoyed watching children on an Easter egg hunt?

They run to and fro, looking here and there...

Never really content until the last egg is found.

And oh the pure celebration when each egg is discovered and added to the basket!

Thus it is with our Savior.

He is in a constant, loving pursuit of His creation,

Desiring to gather each one into the basket of His fold!

Desiring that each one, become His beloved, rescued child.

That each one, be found!

Some of his children may be easier to find then others.

Some put themselves more readily in His view.

Others try to hide; forgetting that He is God, that He sees and knows all.

Maybe (likely) they are forgetting that He loves them, that He actually gave His very life for them.

Or maybe, they just don't know. Have not yet heard.

That is where we come in.

As His children, those who have already been gathered in, He sends us out to search and point the way, to help point them to the cross...

For it is at the foot of the cross where we all find Jesus.

He finds us where we are and His loving Spirit takes us to the cross, and there...

as we look on His broken and blood stained body, hanging on that cruel tree, forsaken even of His Father's presence who turned away because of the barrier of sin that He carried...your sin, my sin...

It is then and there that we see our need, our brokenness and come to know His loving, saving grace!

It is in that moment of contrite realization of our nothingness that we come to see our worth!

So great, that our Savior, the Son of God, gave His very life for us!

It is in that moment of humility, gratefulness and surrender that we are born again....

At the foot of the cross, we become His.

May we reflect deeply this Easter season. Be awed by what it really means.

May we consider the beauty of a basket of Easter eggs, different colors, coming from different places, gathered into baskets to the joyful delight of children.

And may we ponder deeply the beautiful message of the Gospel. Of the Father's joyful delight as His children , different colors and from different places, are gathered in!

Have you noticed how older siblings, grandparents or parents often help the younger ones along, cleverly pointing them towards a hidden egg they may be overlooking...

May we, much like older brothers and sisters who lovingly help their younger siblings in their quest to find what they are looking for on Easter morning....

May we lovingly reach out and help gather in souls, by pointing them to the cross, where they too...

Can be found!

God Stories. What's yours?

I am marveling at God stories. What's yours?? Our daughter has a good friend. Her name is Stephanie. She is creative, talented, bubbly, sensitive and loves Jesus! And she wrote a book. For kids. About God. Called Always Remember . It is different then most kid's books. It has a poetic lilt which is beautiful, but atypical in its cadence. It's wording is unique; yet lovely. It is simple and it is deep.  It's premise is pivotal, declaring Truth! It is almost layered in that each reading of this basically simple book helps peel back another level of understanding and appreciation. It is a book that is actually instructional. It should be read often as a way to reflect and then to live. The main theme is teaching kids (and adults alike) to... Stop. Ponder. Remember God. To see Him every day in everything. To align daily with who He is. It is beautifully illustrated, with large colorful pictures that engage, teach, enlighten and intrigue. She shared how the book was firs...

There once was a fly....

I am musing on a story that begins like this.... There once was a fly. There once was a fly. It lived in Salt Lake City. More specifically, in Kingsbury Hall on the campus of the University of Utah. Kingsbury Hall is the Performing Arts Center. So that fly had the opportunity to view many productions. Last night, that fly was viewing a televised production that likely millions were watching. As that fly buzzed around, it decided to land on a nice head of white hair. And stay there awhile. Little did he know, that he was sitting on the head of the Vice President of the United States. Little did he know how important the role of Vice President of the United States is. Little did he know how important the upcoming election which was being debated is. Little did he know how much of that country's future was at stake. Little did he know how many prayers were being offered for that man upon whose head he sat... and  for those he works with Little did he know of the challenges that...
