Pomegranites and Cures

I am musing about....

Pomegranates and Cures

What if everyone on earth had a fatal disease of cancer; in one form or another.

What if I told you that I had gone to see Mr. Knows it All, the renowned Great Physician who specializes in love and knew the cure for all cancers?

What if that cure was Pomegranates? The kind you could only get from the Great Physician.

But you had to BELIEVE that these Pomegranates were the cure.

You had to follow the instructions laid out by the Great Physician.

You believed the story that the Great Physician shared of how His own son had to give His life, be buried and become part of the soil from which the Pomegranates were grown. That this Son miraculously was restored and was now helping his Father in the Pomegranate business? A business that was not about making money but restoring lives?

What if it had gotten around via the media that Pomegranates were the cure.

What if people had tried them, but they were getting their Pomegranates from a different source, or maybe did not truly believe they would work, or were not following the instructions?

And consequently...they did not work.

What if there were those who agreed that Pomegranates were the answer , but  they decided to cut corners, tried to capitalize on the product, found themselves selfishly pursuing what THEY deemed was the answer to the cancer problem and in some instances even began propelling counterfeit pomegranates at others in fits of anger or self righteousness?

What if Pomegranates were just getting a "bad rap"? If the proponents of the Pomegranate cure were being ridiculed and dismissed?

Yet, you KNEW the Great Physician personally. You understood the value of belief and faith, you had access to the simple yet specific instructions and you had experienced the cure for yourself. And many of your family and friends had as well. You knew that anyone who would personally come to the Great Physician could go home with the cure.

What if you had experienced first hand the joy, the meaning and the insight that was a byproduct of the Pomegranate cure?

What if  you knew that by visiting with the Great Physician everyday you found a relationship of love and joy that was beyond description; that had to be experienced to be understood?

Would it be okay to go through life, cured, watching others suffer, but keeping the True Cure to yourself?  Watching others search for meaning, consuming all kinds of counterfeit Pomegranates, spending hours pursuing deceitful pleasures, all while growing weaker and increasing in pain from the disease of cancer which was overtaking their bodies and lives?

Would you be willing to put yourself out there for the sake of those around you?

How much would you care for and truly love those around you who were dying of the universal cancer that was gripping each and every person in one form or another. Some were still smiling, enjoying a time of remission from the crippling symptoms, not realizing that it was just a matter of time. Others were in obvious despair and disease, full of pain and a sense of confusion and hopelessness.

And all the while, you knew that the Great Physician loved each one and was just waiting for them to come to Him for the cure. That He was sending out messengers to share what He had to offer. Or was, in some cases, trying to.

As you peacefully returned from one of your many daily visits with the Great Physician and passed the dying along the way, what would you do?

What would you do....

With the Pomegranates?

God Stories. What's yours?

I am marveling at God stories. What's yours?? Our daughter has a good friend. Her name is Stephanie. She is creative, talented, bubbly, sensitive and loves Jesus! And she wrote a book. For kids. About God. Called Always Remember . It is different then most kid's books. It has a poetic lilt which is beautiful, but atypical in its cadence. It's wording is unique; yet lovely. It is simple and it is deep.  It's premise is pivotal, declaring Truth! It is almost layered in that each reading of this basically simple book helps peel back another level of understanding and appreciation. It is a book that is actually instructional. It should be read often as a way to reflect and then to live. The main theme is teaching kids (and adults alike) to... Stop. Ponder. Remember God. To see Him every day in everything. To align daily with who He is. It is beautifully illustrated, with large colorful pictures that engage, teach, enlighten and intrigue. She shared how the book was firs...

There once was a fly....

I am musing on a story that begins like this.... There once was a fly. There once was a fly. It lived in Salt Lake City. More specifically, in Kingsbury Hall on the campus of the University of Utah. Kingsbury Hall is the Performing Arts Center. So that fly had the opportunity to view many productions. Last night, that fly was viewing a televised production that likely millions were watching. As that fly buzzed around, it decided to land on a nice head of white hair. And stay there awhile. Little did he know, that he was sitting on the head of the Vice President of the United States. Little did he know how important the role of Vice President of the United States is. Little did he know how important the upcoming election which was being debated is. Little did he know how much of that country's future was at stake. Little did he know how many prayers were being offered for that man upon whose head he sat... and  for those he works with Little did he know of the challenges that...

What I Saw Today

I am musing...                                                                                                            ~11/2020 about what I saw today I stepped into the med room this morning. It is a little room off of the west side nurse's station.  It was quiet back there. And what I saw made my heart sing with a sense of grateful comfort. There on the counter, someone had left an open Bible. It was sitting there, a testimony that someone had likely taken a moment to grab a deep breath  and glean some divine words of encouragement. It was still open, inviting others to also partake from the comfort of it's living pages. Like for so many, this has been a really tough season for all of us. Nurses, aide...
