God Stories. What's yours?

I am marveling at

God stories. What's yours??

Our daughter has a good friend. Her name is Stephanie.

She is creative, talented, bubbly, sensitive and loves Jesus!

And she wrote a book. For kids. About God. Called Always Remember.

It is different then most kid's books. It has a poetic lilt which is beautiful, but atypical in its cadence. It's wording is unique; yet lovely.

It is simple and it is deep.  It's premise is pivotal, declaring Truth! It is almost layered in that each reading of this basically simple book helps peel back another level of understanding and appreciation.

It is a book that is actually instructional. It should be read often as a way to reflect and then to live.

The main theme is teaching kids (and adults alike) to...

Stop. Ponder. Remember God. To see Him every day in everything. To align daily with who He is.

It is beautifully illustrated, with large colorful pictures that engage, teach, enlighten and intrigue.

She shared how the book was first inspired when her five year old came home from school and with widened eyes exclaimed "Did you know there are kids who do not know Jesus?!" And thus the motive for  this book was born.

She shared of the challenges with publishing and the process of getting her thoughts and drawings to print, of situations which were discouraging and of comments that made her doubt herself and her calling.

But then she shared of how God reached down; time and time again, with loving tugs and pulls, assuring her of His presence and blessing upon this endeavor.

She shared of a time when she was considering giving up  She related how she then heard God, almost  audibly and quite emphatically say "Hide it under a bushel...No!" Then, later that day as they assembled in church, the minister asked everyone to stand and sing a song. This was definitely most unusual! He shared how he was feeling led to sing a song as a congregation, a children's song. He stated how the kid's had been missing Sunday School (due to Covid) and a certain song was on his heart. So they all arose to sing....you guessed it..... This Little Light of Mine. As they got to the part about "Hide it under a bushel...No!" Stephanie knew once again that her creative endeavor was Spirit driven.

She also told of someone dear to her heart, who was not totally supportive. But months down the road, this person called and shared how a particular phrase repeated often throughout the book was the only thing that was able to speak calm and peace into their child's heart during a difficult time.

So, God bless you Stephanie, for saying "Yes" to the call. For using your creative gift to help spread the Gospel to the next generation.

I ask you reader, are not God's ways beautiful? Is He not a personal God, reaching down and guiding us in such personal ways?

What is your story? I would love to hear it! Please private message me if you have a story to share. I would love to write about God's marvelous ways in your life.

There are so many stories that NEED to be told. Stories that strengthen redeeming faith in us all!

Thanks for marveling in God's goodness through this "God story" along with me!!

So many God stories! So many to share! So we can be encouraged and Always Remember!

There once was a fly....

I am musing on a story that begins like this.... There once was a fly. There once was a fly. It lived in Salt Lake City. More specifically, in Kingsbury Hall on the campus of the University of Utah. Kingsbury Hall is the Performing Arts Center. So that fly had the opportunity to view many productions. Last night, that fly was viewing a televised production that likely millions were watching. As that fly buzzed around, it decided to land on a nice head of white hair. And stay there awhile. Little did he know, that he was sitting on the head of the Vice President of the United States. Little did he know how important the role of Vice President of the United States is. Little did he know how important the upcoming election which was being debated is. Little did he know how much of that country's future was at stake. Little did he know how many prayers were being offered for that man upon whose head he sat... and  for those he works with Little did he know of the challenges that...

Thank You and God Bless!!

Thank you friends and family for coming along on this musing and marveling journey the last three and half years. The journey is not over. There is still plenty of musing and marveling to do. But for now, I have come to a place of pause and reflection. As 2023 rolls to its close, I am considering taking a step of faith to put this into a book to be shared with those I love, and those who love (or will love) Jesus! All along, it has been about using God given stories and random analogies to encourage and inspire, as together we let life point us to our life-giver, Jesus! And that is my prayer for each of you dear readers...that you may be encouraged, each day, to continue on in this Christ-following journey. Look to Him! Shine for Him! Love Him! Share Him! It is what we are called to do! For this life is all about serving our Lord and bringing others to the Father's throne of mercy and grace, that place where we all find hope, purpose and peace. And to each of our precious grand-c...
