A Dipperful of Grace

I am marveling at

A Dipperful of Grace

I got some new knuckle lights! They are just that. You wear them on your knuckles. I love them. They light the way and help me be "seen" as I walk the neighborhood at night. It is something I enjoy doing. It is cooler, quiet, peaceful. And oh the stars!

I love looking up at the night sky resplendent with God's twinkling lights suspended in the darkness, creating a sense of warmth and welcome amidst the black vastness.

Looking up at the heavens, God feels near. His awesomeness is palpable as is His presence.

The other night as I gazed up, I noticed anew the big dipper. Tilted downward, so easy to spot.

And God gave me a precious thought.

It was as if He was saying "Look. See that big dipper? It is filled with my grace and goodness. As you trust and look to me, I will pour my grace out upon you. My grace is abundant. It is sufficient. It is positioned and ready to be poured out. An entire "Big Dipper" full of grace!! For you!

And then it thrilled my soul as I contemplated the reality that that same big dipper is visible to all people and nations the world over. And so is His promise.

"My grace is sufficient for thee".

Pour out your grace upon this world dear Jesus. May the TRUTH of your sufficiency be spread abroad. May all tribes and nations, oh may we all, lift our eyes up to you "from whence cometh our help".

Thank You and God Bless!!

Thank you friends and family for coming along on this musing and marveling journey the last three and half years. The journey is not over. There is still plenty of musing and marveling to do. But for now, I have come to a place of pause and reflection. As 2023 rolls to its close, I am considering taking a step of faith to put this into a book to be shared with those I love, and those who love (or will love) Jesus! All along, it has been about using God given stories and random analogies to encourage and inspire, as together we let life point us to our life-giver, Jesus! And that is my prayer for each of you dear readers...that you may be encouraged, each day, to continue on in this Christ-following journey. Look to Him! Shine for Him! Love Him! Share Him! It is what we are called to do! For this life is all about serving our Lord and bringing others to the Father's throne of mercy and grace, that place where we all find hope, purpose and peace. And to each of our precious grand-c...

Misunderstanding Understanding

I am musing about...  Misunderstanding Understanding (the understanding of misunderstanding :) ) We all have been involved in misunderstandings; in being misunderstood. It is logical to see how this can happen. We all look at situations according to our  own "story", our personal experiences and our own  interpretation of life. There are times we say something, and it is simply taken "the wrong way". There are times someone says something to us, and we take it "the wrong way". The sad thing is when this misunderstanding goes uncorrected; when it influences behavior, emotions and relationships. That is why good communication is so important. That is why prayer is so needful. Do we pray that God will guide our words and conversations? Do we pray that God will prepare the hearts of those we may plan to speak with regarding a somewhat deep situation? But then there are those spontaneous, if you will, interactions. Those supposedly harmless statements that so...

A story of a story of The Story

Updated:  Jul 19, 2023 So I have a story. A sweet story. It has to do with my Dad. I love my Dad. He is caring and helpful. He is intelligent and thoughtful. He loves God. He loves his family. And, he wrote a book. A children's book. He called it Ben and Kit. Let's back up a bit. For years, our folks would head down to Florida for the winter. They enjoyed their time there. It gave them a chance to pursue some interests. And to just relax. My mom is a painter. I wrote a blog about her awhile back. You may recall of the winter that she was given an opportunity to paint a mural on the wall of a lanai for a lady that she met down there. She painted a lovely beach scene and had so much fun doing it. She did a great job! Our Dad was proud of her. He shared of how Mom was enjoying this creative venture. We all were happy for her. But I felt a little bad for Dad, who was left alone somewhat while mom was away painting. After all, that was not their norm, for they usu...
