From Paralyzed to Empowered

Do you ever feel paralyzed?

Unable to take the "next step"?

Maybe not knowing what that "next step" might even be?

We all have been there!

Have you heard things like "We all have a God given gift and purpose" only to find yourself, on the "struggle bus"*?

"I do"? you wonder. "What is it"? you wonder. "What is wrong with me"? you wonder."Oh no, I am not fulfilling my pupose," you fear.

Oh please. Do not fear.

Rest in God's love for you.

Do not feel overwhelmed or intimidated or discouraged.

But rather, just rest in Him.

Rest in His love for you.

Rest in the fact, that what He wants most is relationship.

To be with you. To commune with you. To lavish His peace and love and joy on you.

Your God given purpose is to be with Him. To delight in Him. To love Him. To trust Him.

And as you do, as you spend time, reflecting on His Word and on who He is....

He will meet you there.

And He will guide you, show you, just what He has for you that day. Will show you "step next".

He will lead you towards His plan for you, day by day.

Know that just being His child, is truly your number one purpose.

Rest in that and delight in Him.

Be empowered.

He gives us seasons, He gives us purpose, He has a role for each of us.

But our number one role and purpose...is to just be His loving and trusting Child.

"Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will you give you rest." Matt: 11:28

"The Lord has appeared of old unto me saying, Yea, I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn you" Jeremiah 31:3

"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people, that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness unto his marvellous light." 1 Peter 2:9

"For I know the thought that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Jeremiah 29:11

"He hath made every thing beautiful in his time; also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end." Ecc. 3:11

Thank you friends and family for coming along on this musing and marveling journey the last three and half years. The journey is not over. There is still plenty of musing and marveling to do. But for now, I have come to a place of pause and reflection. As 2023 rolls to its close, I am considering taking a step of faith to put this into a book to be shared with those I love, and those who love (or will love) Jesus! All along, it has been about using God given stories and random analogies to encourage and inspire, as together we let life point us to our life-giver, Jesus! And that is my prayer for each of you dear readers...that you may be encouraged, each day, to continue on in this Christ-following journey. Look to Him! Shine for Him! Love Him! Share Him! It is what we are called to do! For this life is all about serving our Lord and bringing others to the Father's throne of mercy and grace, that place where we all find hope, purpose and peace. Misunderstanding Understanding

I am musing about... Misunderstanding Understanding (the understanding of misunderstanding :) ) We all have been involved in misunderstandings; in being misunderstood. It is logical to see how this can happen. We all look at situations according to our own "story", our personal experiences and our own interpretation of life. There are times we say something, and it is simply taken "the wrong way". There are times someone says something to us, and we take it "the wrong way". The sad thing is when this misunderstanding goes uncorrected; when it influences behavior, emotions and relationships. That is why good communication is so important. That is why prayer is so needful. Do we pray that God will guide our words and conversations? Do we pray that God will prepare the hearts of those we may plan to speak with regarding a somewhat deep situation? But then there are those spontaneous, if you will, interactions. Those supposedly harmless statements that so...

A Dream

I am musing.... about a famous dream. Oh this world we live in. How quickly we turned a corner. (albeit, one we have turned before). After being inundated day after day with news and talk of Covid...our country and the news is now caught up with destruction, riots and unrest. A black man was killed by a merciless cop. And anarchy was thrown into our country's pot...stirred by racial tension, unrest, anger and lack of constraint. Wrong was committed. Yes, once again. Our black fellow citizens come from, as they say in the adoption world...very "hard places." Consider their roots, their legacy of slavery and oppression. Our country was built in a large part on the shoulders of black slaves. While the white population was able to take advantage of the great American dream...to enter the race for equity and business, to establish venture capital or join the quest west for land, gold and fortune, the black populace remained oppressed, uneducated and unabl...
