Constantly Abiding

 I am musing about....

Constantly. Abiding.

Our 3 year old granddaughter was here recently. What a delight she is. It was so precious to see her run after the fireflies in the cool of the summers eve; as she romped through the grass in  her long sleeveless dress, arms outstretched, eyes opened wide, a look of awe on her sweet innocent face:)

And then when she caught one, how intrigued she was as she looked it over.

And I of course had my camera (phone) ready, trying to capture the beauty of her delighted expression in the light of the blink of a glow from the firefly's intermittent light.

The problem was that I never was able to capture "that moment". The firefly would light up, I would "click" for a pic, and that quick the light was gone. Over and over again I tried. And over and over again I failed to get the perfect shot. Always a millisecond too late it seemed.

Later I got to thinking. I should have been videoing it! Of course. What was I thinking. The ongoing cinematography would have surely given me the opportunity I was looking for. And then I could have done a screen shot to capture the perfect moment! Lesson learned.

It made me think about the story of the ten virgins. Five were wise. They kept the oil in their lamps filled. For they never knew when the Bridegroom would come.

And so it is, as we wait for His appearing. May we ever be ready. May the life we are living for Him be ongoing. Not an off again, on again thing. May we keep our communion flowing. Not that we are or will be perfect. But when we are constantly abiding in the vine, we will find that His light will be there day by day, to shine on our path and show us the way. In the glow of His love.....

Constantly abiding!

God Stories. What's yours?

I am marveling at God stories. What's yours?? Our daughter has a good friend. Her name is Stephanie. She is creative, talented, bubbly, sensitive and loves Jesus! And she wrote a book. For kids. About God. Called Always Remember . It is different then most kid's books. It has a poetic lilt which is beautiful, but atypical in its cadence. It's wording is unique; yet lovely. It is simple and it is deep.  It's premise is pivotal, declaring Truth! It is almost layered in that each reading of this basically simple book helps peel back another level of understanding and appreciation. It is a book that is actually instructional. It should be read often as a way to reflect and then to live. The main theme is teaching kids (and adults alike) to... Stop. Ponder. Remember God. To see Him every day in everything. To align daily with who He is. It is beautifully illustrated, with large colorful pictures that engage, teach, enlighten and intrigue. She shared how the book was firs...

There once was a fly....

I am musing on a story that begins like this.... There once was a fly. There once was a fly. It lived in Salt Lake City. More specifically, in Kingsbury Hall on the campus of the University of Utah. Kingsbury Hall is the Performing Arts Center. So that fly had the opportunity to view many productions. Last night, that fly was viewing a televised production that likely millions were watching. As that fly buzzed around, it decided to land on a nice head of white hair. And stay there awhile. Little did he know, that he was sitting on the head of the Vice President of the United States. Little did he know how important the role of Vice President of the United States is. Little did he know how important the upcoming election which was being debated is. Little did he know how much of that country's future was at stake. Little did he know how many prayers were being offered for that man upon whose head he sat... and  for those he works with Little did he know of the challenges that...

Thank You and God Bless!!

Thank you friends and family for coming along on this musing and marveling journey the last three and half years. The journey is not over. There is still plenty of musing and marveling to do. But for now, I have come to a place of pause and reflection. As 2023 rolls to its close, I am considering taking a step of faith to put this into a book to be shared with those I love, and those who love (or will love) Jesus! All along, it has been about using God given stories and random analogies to encourage and inspire, as together we let life point us to our life-giver, Jesus! And that is my prayer for each of you dear readers...that you may be encouraged, each day, to continue on in this Christ-following journey. Look to Him! Shine for Him! Love Him! Share Him! It is what we are called to do! For this life is all about serving our Lord and bringing others to the Father's throne of mercy and grace, that place where we all find hope, purpose and peace. And to each of our precious grand-c...
