A New Day Dawning

I am marveling about....

A New Day Dawning

The other Saturday I had a rare experience. I saw the sunrise. I know many of you are early risers and see this often. But I, not so much.

I was up by 4 A.M. and on the road by five. Heading east. To a seminar.

And what a glorious gift God gave us! We were enthralled as we watched the splendor of the new day be revealed as the Lord slowly pulled back the curtain of night's darkness.

Ahh...the colors, the vibrancy, the way they changed and grew until the day was flooded in sunshine indicating its obvious arrival; summoning life's business to proceed once again.

As we traveled and took in the marvelous scene unfolding before us, we were reminded once again that....

Each day is a gift.

A gift to be used. A window of opportunity to reach others for the Gospel. To share His love. To make a difference.

I know, that not every day is going to seem huge in the ways of an Evangelical footprint.

But that is where we need to stop and consider what Evangelism is!

The Great Commission tells us to "Go and make disciples of all nations...." Matthew 28:19.  I have thought about that word "Go" a lot during my life time. I have prayed about it and over it. I saw it as a command to intentionally move from Point A to Point B in the name of the Gospel; specifically with a missional purpose. I would acknowledge that one did not necessarily have to "go" overseas, but often maybe just next door. Of course by going overseas one helps meet the "ALL nations" directive.

But it was also made clear to me recently that to "Go" is simply a directive. It is like saying...."Now on with it. Go. Do it. Carry on. Step out into what is "Today" and make a difference for me (God) and for My (God's) Kingdom."

And so today, whether we happened to see it dawn or not, may we all go forth in such a way, that by the time the sun sets, we will know that we went forth in the name of Jesus and met what He had for us, reflecting Him to all we came into contact with.

And where we failed in this, let us not bear the shame, but in repentance give it to God and seek His grace and mercy and power, knowing He will then equip us for tomorrow and

...the dawning of another new day!! As we journey this road of life.

"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not, they are new every morning. Great is thy faithfulness."  Lamentations 3: 22-23

Thank You and God Bless!!

Thank you friends and family for coming along on this musing and marveling journey the last three and half years. The journey is not over. There is still plenty of musing and marveling to do. But for now, I have come to a place of pause and reflection. As 2023 rolls to its close, I am considering taking a step of faith to put this into a book to be shared with those I love, and those who love (or will love) Jesus! All along, it has been about using God given stories and random analogies to encourage and inspire, as together we let life point us to our life-giver, Jesus! And that is my prayer for each of you dear readers...that you may be encouraged, each day, to continue on in this Christ-following journey. Look to Him! Shine for Him! Love Him! Share Him! It is what we are called to do! For this life is all about serving our Lord and bringing others to the Father's throne of mercy and grace, that place where we all find hope, purpose and peace. And to each of our precious grand-c...

Misunderstanding Understanding

I am musing about...  Misunderstanding Understanding (the understanding of misunderstanding :) ) We all have been involved in misunderstandings; in being misunderstood. It is logical to see how this can happen. We all look at situations according to our  own "story", our personal experiences and our own  interpretation of life. There are times we say something, and it is simply taken "the wrong way". There are times someone says something to us, and we take it "the wrong way". The sad thing is when this misunderstanding goes uncorrected; when it influences behavior, emotions and relationships. That is why good communication is so important. That is why prayer is so needful. Do we pray that God will guide our words and conversations? Do we pray that God will prepare the hearts of those we may plan to speak with regarding a somewhat deep situation? But then there are those spontaneous, if you will, interactions. Those supposedly harmless statements that so...

A story of a story of The Story

Updated:  Jul 19, 2023 So I have a story. A sweet story. It has to do with my Dad. I love my Dad. He is caring and helpful. He is intelligent and thoughtful. He loves God. He loves his family. And, he wrote a book. A children's book. He called it Ben and Kit. Let's back up a bit. For years, our folks would head down to Florida for the winter. They enjoyed their time there. It gave them a chance to pursue some interests. And to just relax. My mom is a painter. I wrote a blog about her awhile back. You may recall of the winter that she was given an opportunity to paint a mural on the wall of a lanai for a lady that she met down there. She painted a lovely beach scene and had so much fun doing it. She did a great job! Our Dad was proud of her. He shared of how Mom was enjoying this creative venture. We all were happy for her. But I felt a little bad for Dad, who was left alone somewhat while mom was away painting. After all, that was not their norm, for they usu...
