The Maker of Fall

I am musing on....

Falling on the Maker of Fall!

Let us fall on the Maker of Fall!

This beautiful time of year! A time of color, cozy, crispness and gathering.

A time to gather in the fruits after a season of growth.

A time to glean, prune and prepare for the oncoming of cold. Of short days.

A time to gather with friends, around a fire for fellowship and warmth

A time to reflect on the Creator's magnificence and His ability to beautify the world around us with His touch; painting the trees in glorious hues, the barren fields in pretty tones, the sky in  vibrant blues against the pure white floating clouds.

A time to recognize that with the coming reality of decay and stagnant growth, that surely, as He wills, Spring will come again and the land will once again blossom and be rebirthed in new Glory. Oh the analogy this provides of our life here and our eternal hope in all that awaits!

So let us fall on Him each and every day.

Leaning on Him for strength, renewal and perspective.

He is the giver of joy and color and all things good!

During the cooler, quieter months ahead (for us in the Midwest) let us lean in and allow ourselves to be warmed by His presence!

Let us all fall on the glorious Maker of Fall!

And He will lift us up!!

A story of a story of The Story

Updated:  Jul 19, 2023 So I have a story. A sweet story. It has to do with my Dad. I love my Dad. He is caring and helpful. He is intelligent and thoughtful. He loves God. He loves his family. And, he wrote a book. A children's book. He called it Ben and Kit. Let's back up a bit. For years, our folks would head down to Florida for the winter. They enjoyed their time there. It gave them a chance to pursue some interests. And to just relax. My mom is a painter. I wrote a blog about her awhile back. You may recall of the winter that she was given an opportunity to paint a mural on the wall of a lanai for a lady that she met down there. She painted a lovely beach scene and had so much fun doing it. She did a great job! Our Dad was proud of her. He shared of how Mom was enjoying this creative venture. We all were happy for her. But I felt a little bad for Dad, who was left alone somewhat while mom was away painting. After all, that was not their norm, for they usu...

Free to Destruct or Thrive

On this Veteran's Day, I am musing about how we are... FREE! Free.... to destruct or thrive!  0h THANK YOU Heavenly Father for the free nation that is ours! THANK YOU to our service men and women of today and to all those who willingly fought and unselfishly gave...so that we could be free. Free to let our voice by heard, to worship as we please, to vote our conscience! Are these freedoms being challenged? Yes! Is free speech being censored? Yes! Oh there are concerns...ample concerns! So, a disclaimer of sorts. Is what I am about to relate my own humble, personal opinion?  Yes, it is. I am basing it on God's Word which is where I obtain my world view. Which is where I find Truth. Dear readers, I surmise that most of you agree with me, but if you do not, that is your right. We both have rights to express our opinions. And that is because we live in a country that allows us this privilege! And for that, I am thankful! Aren't you? So, getting back to my message. Yes, there...

God Stories. What's yours?

I am marveling at God stories. What's yours?? Our daughter has a good friend. Her name is Stephanie. She is creative, talented, bubbly, sensitive and loves Jesus! And she wrote a book. For kids. About God. Called Always Remember . It is different then most kid's books. It has a poetic lilt which is beautiful, but atypical in its cadence. It's wording is unique; yet lovely. It is simple and it is deep.  It's premise is pivotal, declaring Truth! It is almost layered in that each reading of this basically simple book helps peel back another level of understanding and appreciation. It is a book that is actually instructional. It should be read often as a way to reflect and then to live. The main theme is teaching kids (and adults alike) to... Stop. Ponder. Remember God. To see Him every day in everything. To align daily with who He is. It is beautifully illustrated, with large colorful pictures that engage, teach, enlighten and intrigue. She shared how the book was firs...
