Brokenness Part 1 It made me sad. I had three lovely long stem carnations that I was taking to my mom. She would like them; a touch of Spring to brighten their home! I had them in a vase (without water) on the floor of the car. I had planned to be intentional about keeping an eye on them when I turned a corner. But I got distracted, turned a corner and sure enough the vase fell over and the pretty dark pink one became broken. I carefully picked it up and held the vase with the flowers in them the rest of the way to my destination. All the while I was sad; repentant as I wished I had been more intentional, more careful. It made me think about life and how easy it is to become broken. It takes more then intentionality and carefulness to prevent it. We can not do it on our own. In this crazy journey of life it is bound to happen in one form or another, as we allow distractions and our sin nature to keep us from the intentionality of serving Him with our whole heart...
